T221 Havelock Station

Project data

Location: Havelock Road, Singapore

Completion Date: 2021

The new upcoming Havelock Station is an underground train station located along the Thomson-East Coast Line. It is built underneath the junction of Zion Road, Havelock Road and Jalan Bukit Ho Swee. With the new station, it brings a rail connectivity to the nearby vicinity such as hotels, business and residential developments.

The whole RC Slab of the train station uses PERI UP Flex system, providing a 2-in-1 solution for the slab falsework and the perimeter of the wall access. Besides, casting of the station’s external walls uses VARIO GT 24 Girder Wall Formwork system. It ables to do a single casting of a 6.8 m high wall as compare to using conventional formwork. It delivers a good surface finishing and tolerance. The highest wall is 7 m in height for this project.

Requirements

  • Limited crane availability
  • Limited space on site (manually transport materials by hand to the work area from the designated unloading area)
  • Formwork system to fullfill main contractor in-house rules of non-frame type shoring

  • Full compliance to Gammon Pte Ltd’s shoring requirement
Mr. Liu Jan Zhong
General Manager

PERI provides a good delivery support as materials are delivered on time. With the use of PERI system on site, we are able to cast a 24 m x 24 m slab area in 14 days by cycle and 5 days for a wall length of 24 m. This results in saving of manpower and time.

PERI solution

  • In order to fullfill the main contractor in-house rules of using formwork system of non-frame type shoring, PERI UP Flex system suffice the requirement standard. With limited availability of crane and space constraint on site, they have to manually transport materials by hand to the work area from the designated unloading area. Therefore, PERI UP Flex makes a great choice as its ledger is approx. 30% lighter compared to a round tube with same load-bearing capacity and thus allows ergonimical transport by hand.
